Floaters

Almost everyone sees these semi-transparent specks as they fall within your line of sight. They occur in various sizes and shapes; and since they are within the eye, they move as our eye moves and seem to dart away as we look at them.

These specks may be caused by protein, white blood cells, lymphocytes, blood, cholesterol or calcium salts. Floaters are most often caused by the natural aging in the eye fluids, and most are normal and expected.

However, if you notice a sudden shower of floaters, and increase in their size or frequency, if they don't move as you look at them, or if they are accompanied by sudden flashes of light,
CONTACT YOUR EYE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!
