Myopia - Nearsightedness Nearsightedness (myopia) is a very common condition that affects nearly 30 percent of the U.S. population. Nearsightedness generally develops before age 20. An individual who has myopia has trouble seeing clearly at a distance, while close objects are seen clearly. Myopia occurs when the eyeball is slightly longer than usual from front to back. Nearsightedness may be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery. Dr. Panzer will examine your eyes to determine the degree of myopia and the choices for your particular situation. More information about Myopia, or Nearsightedness, is available from Dr. Allan J. Panzer at the Houston Dry Eye Clinic, 4760 Beechnut St., Houston, TX, 77096 -- Phone: (713) 222-2020 or visit HoustonDryEyeClinic.com |
